Who Am I? – Updated 5/5/16
My name is Mike. I’m a
graduate student at Boston University working on my MA in Television Production (graduated). I live in Somerville. I date a scientist/model (We’re engaged now), raise 3 cats, have fought amatuer Muay Thai, and in a past life sang for a powerviolence band. When I’m not doing any of that I work as an AV technician, broadcast producer, freelance video producer, and anything else I can get my hands on (I work a lot). I started this blog partially as a writing exercise. It occasionally gets mentioned on blogs and message boards, and once in a while breaks an original story. I do it all in my own free time of which I have very little.
In the interest of full disclosure: I have no previous experience scouting, playing, or coaching NFL football. Furthermore, I make no attestation towards being a football expert whatsoever. Quite frankly anybody with enough free time or disdain for existing sports journalism can do what I do. However, I’m a football fan who pays attention to detail, does his homework, and subscribes to the idea that if enough people are in favor of something there must be something wrong with it. Should you choose to disagree with me go right ahead and say so. I’m always willing to defend what I write here.
The blog simply hopes to put some information out there in the hopes that football fans might look at things from an outside perspective. Plenty of professional “draft analysts” are just guys who phone it in anyways. SI mock drafts are fun (in the same vein as Youtube videos of people falling up escalators are fun). One liners are fun. But this blog believes that there is always more out there to be learned, and I am to help do some of the leg work for inquiring football minds. So please enjoy.
